These suspenders, or braces as they were called during the old west period, are completely handmade by D.R. Griffiths in his Arizona Leather shop. D.R. uses only the finest leathers for all of his items. These braces are 1 inch wide and feature hand tooling the full length of the straps.
Do not mistake "Tooling" for "embossing"!! Tooling is just that - an individual leather "tool" is used to make each mark, by hand, into the leather to form a pattern or design. Where extra depth and dimension is required the leather surface is cut to allow for beveling and deep tooling. Embossing is the same as running your britches through the wringer on the side of grandma's old wash tub. The leather is squeezed through an actual "wringer" with a pattern wheel. There is no true depth or dimension and the exact same pattern is repeated every 2 or 3 inches as the wheel goes around. Many leather items are being sold as "tooled" using this method. THIS IS NOT TOOLING - IT IS EMBOSSING. Ask the Seller! WE DO NOT EMBOSS OUR LEATHER!

The back Y connector is also tooled. There is 2 inch wide elastic in the back for comfort. There are 5 adjustment holes on each strap and the button leathers feature two holes at each end for even further adjustment and comfort. These braces are shown in Blood Brown. They are also available in Black, and natural light oil. These are not clip-on suspenders, your britches will have to have buttons or rivets for attachment. We do have hooks and loops available as additional items that allow these to connect without buttons on your britches. For proper fit please give us your height and your waist measurements. If your measurements fall outside of those listed please contact us directly. LADIES: we can fit you too, please contact us directly.
